Hydrological Conditions of Mangrove Lakes Region of Everglades National Park
Ongoing data collection from USGS monitoring stations Alligator Creek, McCormick Creek, and Seven Palm Lake will be used to support the development of a water budget for the Lakes region. Three additional flow monitoring stations were installed in 2014 to assist with the water budget effort. Continuous water level measurements will be collected at Oyster Creek, West Lake Outlet, and Cuthbert Lake Outlet each representing flow to and from the large lakes (West Lake, Cuthbert Lake, Long Lake, and Seven Palm Lake) along with bi-monthly discharge measurements to develop index velocity rating. USGS will be supporting data collection at 1of the 3 flow monitoring locations. These data will be published on the USGS NWIS web site and final quality assured data will also be published on the USGS SOFIA Data Exchange web site.
