Evapotranspiration and rainfall data are available for 253 sites in Big Cypress National Preserve, Everglades National Park, Florida Bay, Gulf of Mexico, Pennsuco Wetlands, and Water Conservation Areas 1, 2, and 3. The data are available as zipped files by area and in sets of data from 1995-2009 for Evapotranspiration data and from 2002 - 2010 for rainfall data.

Within approximately 45 days after the end of each month quality-assured EOM data for grid cells in the EDEN project domain for the month are received from SFWMD. Daily rainfall data (in inches) for EDEN gage locations are compiled from the EOM data and assembled into Excel spreadsheets by area. This compilation of data is updated when additional data is provided by the SFWMD.
EDEN staff receives Evapotranspiration (ET) data annually from the USGS approximately six months after the end of the calendar year. Daily Potential Evapotranspiration (PET) values (in millimeters) are extrapolated by location for each of the EDEN water level stations and assembled into Excel spreadsheets organized by area.
Any use of trade, product, or firm names is for descriptive purposes only and does not constitute endorsement by the U.S. Government
ET data are available from 1995 -12/31/2009.
Users should take careful note of the referenced vertical datum in order to make valid data comparisons.
Using ET data compiled from various sources (ie. USGS and WMD) and based on meetings with agencies and principal investigators (PIs) in FY07, determine preferred method(s) for estimating ET at EDEN gages and through the greater Everglades for the period January 1995 to current. Provide estimates of ET data by gage and by area (ie. WCA1, ENP), if appropriate, on a daily or seasonal basis (frequency based on analysis of available data and agency and PI needs). Make recommendation for format and presentation on EDENweb and work with the SOFIA webmaster to post data.
Using NEXRAD rainfall grids provided by SFWMD extrapolate time-series point data at EDEN gages and through the greater Everglades for the period January 2002 to current. Provide estimates of rainfall data by gage and by area (ie. WCA1, ENP), if appropriate, on a daily or seasonal basis (frequency based on analysis of available data and agency and PI needs). Make recommendation for format and presentation on EDENweb and work with the SOFIA webmaster to post data
Program NWIS to allow plotting of hydrographs for multiple gages in NWIS or outside of NWIS using NWIS data (daily and hourly values). Hydrograph comparison offer users many advantages when evaluating the Everglades wetlands system
